Every flight we log here is one we actually flew. What the client asked for, where it was, what went up, and what came back. Commercial clients are named. Private clients are first name only, with the location given at area level and no addresses published.

Chimney and Roof Survey, Heavitree

Rain getting into a terraced house, and a noise in the chimney whenever it rained. Three stacks and a full roof imaged in one flight, with a likely entry point identified and the noise explained.

The White House, Exeter St Davids

A roof and wall condition survey of The White House at Red Cow Village, beside Exeter St Davids station. The building sits about 32 metres from the nearest railway track, so the flight went up under a notification registered with Network Rail.

Water coming into one flat in a block of six. The survey identified the most likely route in and set out the repairs in priority order.

A commercial roof and building envelope survey in the middle of Exeter, flown at six in the morning under approvals obtained for a restricted location.

Thermal Leak Survey, Newtown

Water getting into a Victorian terrace with no obvious way in. Thermal imaging alongside the visual survey put the source at a crack in the rear extension render, and ruled the main roof out.

Four flying days over a hostile environment training course on a military training area in Kent. Not a roof in sight, and a long way outside Devon, but the same aircraft and the same operator.

No leak, no emergency. A homeowner who wanted a proper photographic record of her roof before deciding what to spend money on. The chimney turned out to be carrying almost everything.

Our First Survey, St Thomas

The first drone roof survey report we produced. Water coming in on one side of a Victorian terrace, two chimney stacks, and a clear answer as to which one was doing it.

CAA registered operator, A2 Certificate of Competency held, with a construction background behind the survey work.
Insurance
Commercial drone insurance through Coverdrone, in force and current for every flight on this log.
Aircraft
A DJI Mavic 4 Pro for high resolution visual survey work, and a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced carrying a radiometric thermal sensor.
